Reflections on a homemade burger

I’ve been thinking about what should go into a homemade Burger. In the past at home I’ve been a bit of a “What ever is in the fridge is going in” kinda burger cook. I’ve experimented with different recipes for the patty’s, I’ve used different types of buns etc… However, almost always I would add pineapple rings and eggs. But now I’m not so sure. I think I’m getting closer to what should go into my own –  home style burger – closer to climbing the burger Mt Everest, and yet the peak seems still hidden by the clouds. I’m be evolving as a burger connoisseur and this makes things difficult.  One rather challenging issue needs to be resolved before I reach the summit. I have loved the addition of the egg in my burgers for so long, but now I think it might be time to move on.  This might be a big deal – I’m not sure about this yet. I mean, it’s not the eggs fault, I still love eggs, but maybe not in a burger? Maybe we’ve just grown apart? The other night as I made a burger at home, I left the egg off my second burger… It seemed like the right thing to do although I still felt guilty about it now. I never thought the journey would be this hard.
